"......PLAYS ALTO, TENOR & BARITONE" - - ZOOT SIMS QUARTET - - HMV CLP 1165 - - A TRULY FANTASTIC COPY OF THIS OUTSTANDING ALBUM FROM THE GREAT ZOOT SIMS !!!! - - The laminated flipback jacket is in superb NEAR MINT condition, with a gleaming white back, perfect lamination and superb edges and spine !!! - - The disc too is a VERY STRONG NEAR MINT grading, probably played only once or twice at most, many would grade it as mint!!! - - Needless to say, the mega talented Zoot, is nothing but superb throughout the whole 8 numbers on the album!!! - - He is brilliantly backed by the excellent John Williams on piano, Knobby Totah, bass and the impeccable drumming of Gus Johnson !!! - - The session comprises of originals, by the highly acclaimed Jazz composer, George Handy thruout: "Blinuet", "The trouble with me is you", "Where you at", "Zonkin' ", "Noshin' ", "Major major", "Minor,minor" and finally plays out with a roaring, "Pegasus" !!! - - Certainly acclaimed as one of the greatest tenorist's of all time, it is evident here too, that Zoot is also a master of the alto and is superbly lyrical on baritone!!! - - I defy you to find a better copy of this, it is in amazing condition, especially when you consider it is over 50 years old !!! - - Started with no reserve, thanks for looking and good luck!!! - - £19.99
