Description
I found this recently in a bunch of papers and press kit info all dating from the late 70's scene.
This is an original press kit made by Craig Luckin who was ROKY ERICKSON's manager in 1978 to promote ROKY ERICKSON AND THE ALIENS as an performing act. It is 38 pages in length. There are a couple color photographs of Roky and a glossy 8x10 of him and the band, a short biography of his career up til that time : his start with The Spades, his years as an original psychedelic originator in the 13th Floor Elevators, and his rise from the ashes in the mid 70's with Bleib Alien and later the Aliens. There is a discography, 3 pages of printed lyrics, reviews of recordings, reviews of performances and interviews of the period. Lots of rare material , very interestingly is talk of a collaboration with John Thompson , the illustrator of The Cosmic Trigger, Book of Dreams, and Sphinx Comix on something called The Future Demonic Bleib and The Devil's Child's Mind. There is a illustration from this on the cover.
This unique and one of a kind piece of rock 'n roll ephemera should be highly interesting to the hardcore Roky Erickson fan. now.... let's all Stand for the Fire Demon!!
