Description

WDST, Woodstock New York's own radio station, in commemoration of the 35th anniversary of the Woodstock Music Festival, is auctioning off it's entire record collection.  This collection contains records spanning from the 1960s to the late 1980s, and includes all genres, including rock, pop, blues, and classical.  Subgenres include new wave, psychedelic rock, classic rock, blues, art-rock, progressive rock, and hard-rock, to name a few.

The status of each record varies, since these records where spun on WDST, 100.1 FM in Woodstock, NY.  Many records are in mint condition, some still sealed in shrink wrap, while others aren't necessarily in the best of shape.  This collection includes many rare promotional releases, EPs, singles, collections, soundtracks, and full albums from many well known artists, as well as obscure and rare releases from more independant and cult artists.  For a few staple examples, this collection includes:

  • records from such Woodstock acts such as Jimi Hendrix, Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young, Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin, Johnny Winter, Blood Sweat and Tears, the Band, Jefferson Airplane, The Who, and Creedence Clearwater Revival, among others...
  • numerous Frank Zappa records, all in excellent condition
  • Some early Beatles records, american releases, as well as solo beatle records, including Lennon, McCartney, and Harrison.
  • A fair amount of Bob Dylan albums, including Blood on the Tracks, John Wesley Harding, and Desire
  • Records and singles from such UK bands as U2, Talking Heads, Tears for Fears, the Chameleons, The Cure, Duran Duran, Depeche Mode, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Erasure, and New Order, the Psychedelic Furs, The Police, and more.
  • Collections and releases by Al Green and Marvin Gaye.
  • Other classic rock staples such as Led Zeppelin, Elton John, Billy Joel, The Kinks, Pink Floyd, the Rolling Stones, and David Bowie.  Full records and some EPs.
  • Numerous blues records- many in mint condition.

Some records may be worth quite a bit of money.  Perfect for record collectors, record dealers, and shops.
