Description
Beatles Stereo 3rd State Butcher Cover w/Removed Trunk Slick, Record and Inner Sleeve
Please read entire description/auction terms prior to bidding on this item. Thank You
If you've been looking for a genuine and authentic 3rd State (peeled) Stereo Butcher Cover with the Removed Trunk Slick that you will be proud to display or frame with the removed trunk slick without spending 2k, then this might be for you ! Please take a look at the fine detail of this 1966 gem that has been professional peeled to reveal its original gory glory ! These STEREO jackets are at least five times as rare as their mono counterparts but some say 10 times as rare. At any rate, mono was still the more produced designation in 1966 as far as Beatles records go. Please view the photos and specific condition description and compare with other peels on the web in this price range. See last photo for jacket prior to peel. While the peel is excellent, the jacket has some minor seam issues and as a result, has been highly discounted accordingly.
Unlike most offerings on the net (see details below in the condition section), these STEREO jackets are much harder to come by in such displayable condition.
Although it is sad each week to see more and more recently poorly or mediocre peeled covers go up for sale, the good news is that jackets such as this that present well with a framable Trunk Slick are only increasing in value as more and more get destroyed each week by amateur peel attempts.
Please read the complete description below for specific details on condition.
Look around and compare. Please also check our positive feedback for customer satisfaction of past sales of genuine Butcher Covers. Also look at realized prices of completed auctions and compare those.
This item will be safely and securely double boxed and shipped to you via Priority Mail.
Please read complete description and view photos carefully prior to bidding.
Condition: Front of Jacket:
Front Peeled Butcher Slick presents nicely from an excellent professional peeling process. These stereo jackets show up in far less frequency than their mono counterparts.
Capitol factory glue lines/residue from the trunk slick adhesive process is light and somewhat visible on an angle, but as you can see from the photos, doesn't interfere or overpower the overall look of this peel. These Stereo jackets are notorious for gunky glue used to adhere the trunk slick back in 1966 which is different from the glue used on the mono Scranton jackets. No big tears or other tragedies that you commonly see on these peeled jackets. Any professional touch up, if any, would be very minor on this jacket.
Overall a nice example of this rarer Scranton Pa. STEREO Butcher Cover.
Please see photos to verify the specific conditions described and feel free to contact with questions.
Seams: Top seam exhibits a seam crack on the last 4" of that seam which was reinforced properly with paper hinging materal. This appears to be stable. Bottom also appears to have had some similar chipping/splitting on the last 1" of that seam, and this also appears to have been neatly reinforced. To protect the integrity of the seams and avoid future damage, a record should NEVER be attempted to be placed or stored in this jacket. This album jacket is nearly 60 years old and should be protected accordingly (See Seam photos).
Spine: Spine is decent with all printing legible with only some minor foxing . (See Spine photos).
Back Of Jacket: The back of the jacket is mostly clean with light wear/aging. (See photo of back)
Trunk Slick: Removed trunk slick is included in framable condition as shown with some minor wrinkling, wear, tear and repair from the peeling process.
Record/Inner Sleeve: Correct Scranton record is included in VG++ to EX visual condition (clean with only wispy light scratches seen under bright light). Played through with decent fidelity. 1966 Goldenrod Capitol Inner sleeve included that exhibits typical splits on bottom and sides of several inches. Record will be shipped in a Mofi quality sleeve for storage.
Terms Of Auction/Shipping: Due to recent inflation and subsequent increases in actual USPS shipping costs, Buyer pays $39.99 for properly packed double boxed priority shipping with tracking. Shipping of such a high value, large package with significant weigh is costly and labor intensive and will likely be more that what is being charged here. Regardless, the cost to you will be capped at $39.99. Bidders with low feedback or new accounts must contact us prior to bidding on this item. Seller reserves the right to cancel bids or terminate auction at any time. Due to the exceptional cost and labor involved in shipping this item, this is being sold "AS IS" and there are No Returns on this purchase. Please review all photos and descriptions and please contact with questions prior to bidding. This item has been through a laborious process from the 2nd state to what you see here, and as such, the grading is unique on this item. This cannot be graded like a comic book or a baseball card due to the fact that this jacket has twice been altered from its original state, once by the paste over process at the Capitol Factory and likewise by the peeling process. Any imperfections are from either process. The photos speak for themselves and we do our best to accurately grade these historic artifacts.
Please note: T shirt seen in background in some photos is not included and used for display purposes only.
Thank You !
