Description
It’s hard to remember that BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN first hit the headlines with ‘Born To Run’ way back in 1975. Since then, he’s consistently produced some of the best music to come out of the United States, covering the full gamut from commercially accessible rock albums to more sombre folk-oriented works. And, never afraid to voice his opinion, his poetic lyrics showcase a talent for finding grandeur in the struggles of daily life.
Taken from perhaps his most prolific decade, from the mid 80’s on, here are seven offerings to remind yourself of how great The Boss really is. The singles are:-
BORN IN THE USA (THE FREEDOM MIX) b/w Born In The USA (dub version) / Born In The USA (radio edit) (CBS A12-4920, 1984) The sleeve is in excellent condition with some very light creasing to the edges, and the vinyl is in excellent-plus condition with a couple of very light surface marks.
BORN IN THE USA b/w Born In The USA (dub version) / Born In The USA (radio edit) (CBS/Sony 12 AP 2991, 1984) A rare Japanese version of this great single, with extra-thick card sleeve and custom poly inner, the sleeve is in mint condition and the vinyl is mint/unplayed.
BORN IN THE USA b/w Shut Out The Lght / Pink Cadillac / Jersey Girl / Santa Claus Is Comin’ To Town (CBS SAMP 89, 1984) Made in Holland and issued for Promotion Purposes Only in Europe, the second side features live versions of ‘Jersey Girl’ and ‘Santa Claus’. The sleeve is in excellent condition with some very light creasing to the edges, the vinyl, in a plain white inner, is in excellent-plus condition with a couple of very light surface marks.
DANCING IN THE DARK b/w Dancing In The Dark (radio edit) / Dancing In The Dark (dub version) (Columbia 12CXP 05028, 1984) A rare Canadian version of this single, the sleeve is still in its original shrink wrap, in mint condition and the vinyl, in a custom poly inner, is mint/unplayed.
BRILLIANT DISGUISE b/w Lucky Man / 4th of July Asbury Park (Sandy) (CBS 6511416, 1987) Made in Holland, the sleeve is in excellent-plus condition with some very light creasing to the edges, and the vinyl, in a plain white inner, is in excellent-plus condition with a couple of very light surface marks. Includes a free, huge poster of Springsteen measuring 36" x 24".
TUNNEL OF LOVE b/w Santa Claus Is Comin’ To Town (live) / Two For The Road (CBS 651295 6, 1987) The collectable 12" version of this single, the sleeve is in mint condition and the vinyl is in excellent condition with a couple of very light surface marks.
LEAP OF FAITH b/w Leap Of Faith (live) / 30 Days Out (Columbia 658369 6, 1992) Made in Holland, the sleeve is in excellent-plus condition with some very light creasing to the edges, and the vinyl, in a plain white inner, is in mint condition.
This is a really nice set that will grace any vinyl collection – especially if you’re a fan of Springsteen! And by buying the seven singles as a set, you’ll be saving heaps on postage too!!
