RARE MONO FIRST PRESSING, WITH ALTERNATE VERSION OF TOMORROW NEVER KNOWS, SIDE 2 MATRIX XEX 606-1, IMPRESSIVE EXAMPLE, SUPER FIRM, WHITE, CLEAN SLEEVE
The Beatles ‘REVOLVER’ album - considered one of most ICONIC and COLLECTIBLE Albums of the 20th Century - was released by Parlophone UK in 1966. EXTREMELY SOUGHT AFTER by Collectors around the World today, this is an IMPRESSIVE example of the RARE FIRST ISSUE MONO VARIANT LP, with the side 2 matrix of **XEX 606-1**, containing the ALTERNATE VERSION of TOMORROW NEVER KNOWS.
Album Description and Condition:
The ORIGINAL 1966 UK MONO, FIRST ISSUE Parlophone Vinyl LP is on the traditional Black and Yellow Parlophone Label, with ‘The Gramophone Co Ltd’ label rim, with ‘Sold in UK…..’ and ‘Made in Gt. Britain’ label text.
Both record labels are in RESPECTABLE excellent condition, with no discolouration or fading to any of the printed text, showing some centre spider trails and light spindle wear to both labels.
Both sides of the HEAVYWEIGHT Vinyl Disc are in RESPECTABLE excellent condition, CLEAN BRIGHT Vinyl Surfaces, with a few light inaudible surface hairlines. There is a small scratch to the track, ‘Eleanor Rigby’ on Side 1, that produces a light ‘click’ through 50 percent of the track. On Side 2 , track 3, ‘For No One’, there is a small blemish producing a light ‘hiss’. All the remaining tracks play very well throughout, without any skips or clicks.
Side 1 matrix: XEX 605-2 and Side 2 XEX 606-1.
Side 1 stampers: 1/RG and Side 2: 3/RH.
The embossed ‘KT’ tax/price code visible to the centre of the side 1 record label.
The album comes in an ORIGINAL lined ‘Use Emitex….’ inner bag which is in CLEAN excellent condition, with NO handwriting. There is some light creasing and a 3" split to one of the side seams.
The Vinyl LP is housed in an ORIGINAL, Front LAMINATED, FIRST ISSUE, Patents Pending Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve, printed ‘mono’ to the top right hand corner.
The sleeve is a BEAUTIFUL example in STRONG excellent plus condition. This is a particularly IMPRESSIVE sleeve throughout. The front panel still retains its DEEP GLOSS SHINE and the WHITE areas of the sleeve have remained WHITE with NO discolouration. The reverse panel of the sleeve is BEAUTIFULLY PRESERVED - Very CLEAN. All three flipbacks are UNDAMAGED. Both edges and the spine edge are UNDAMAGED and the wording to the spine edge is CLEARLY printed ‘Revolver – The Beatles’. All there is to mention are a couple of light corner ‘taps’.
