THE BEATLES - 'WHITE ALBUM'
1968 UK 1st *MONO* PRESSING
**No. 0000124**
This geuninely low-numbered copy - No. 0000124 - is a 1968 UK 1st *MONO* pressing on the dark green Apple labels: PMC 7067 & PMC 7068
All labels include the 'Sold in UK..' text but omit the 'An EMI Recording' statement.
Housed in a fully laminated, thick card, top-loading 'Garrod & Lofthouse' mono cover, numbered: No. 0000124
Complete with original die-cut matt-black inners, matt UK 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed poster & four card thick card colour portrait photos.
Matrix numbers: XEX 709-1, 710-1, 711-1, 712-1
Stamper numbers: 4/GH, 9/GGP, 2/LM, 7/LL
Disc weights: 1.135g 2.164g
Cover: VERY GOOD
This genuinely low-numbered example is in respectable shape displaying just some minor age-toning, but the all important No. 0000124 is clean and bold.
The front panel is bright and glossy with its only major fault being a 1.5cm section of missing paper towards the upper left corner on the spine.
The corners have some light shelfwear bruising and the top-opening edges have a little light wear but no tears or feathering.
The rear panel has some faint indentation lines in a certain light, a 5mm 'hole' to the left edge and a 1cm stain towards the upper opening edge.
The inside of the gatefold displays a small area of staining towards the upper part of the fold but is otherwise undamaged.
The spine's laminate has split and there is some staining towards the upper end. However all the text is present and readable.
This extremely early example can only increase in value over time.
All are clean and bright with just some spindle marks an slight hole-wear but no writing or missing paper to any label.
Visual: VERY GOOD
All surfaces are clean, bright and glossy displaying just a few minor surface marks and the occaisional light scratch in daylight but no other major visual wear.
Disc two is slightly cleaner than disc 1 but I am grading both the same to be on the safe side.
Both lie 100% flat on the turntable with no dishing or warping.
Audio: VERY GOOD
Both discs have been played many times but still sound respectable with no groovewear present on either disc.
Some light background is present during quiter passages and there is an occaisional light click, but no jumps, repeats or any other major audible faults.
Clean & unhung with just minor handling wear & a few light age-spots but no tears.
Black inners: EXCELLENTClean & flat with no tears, seam splits or missing paper.
