When this variant was selected as the 'Pepper' sleeve, the printed 'Fourth Proof' text should have been removed before it went into production. However, as you can see, some slipped through the net and found their way on to the record store shelves.
This example is in great condition, overall, apart from the spine, which has suffered some trauma, to the extent that the centre is damaged (see photo). Rather oddly, the internal spine is perfect.
Both sides of the disc show no groove wear or dulling. There are a few needle lines here and there, which do cause very mild clicking/popping in places but these are very light and tend to sound more like crackle. Playback is clear and sharp, with no appreciable deterioration from this powerful mono mix. There are no stalls or jumps on this disc.
The labels are in fine condition, with all text undamaged and vibrant. There is just the usual collection of spindle trails around the centre.
Comes with its original 'Fool' inner, showing a little grubbiness but still completely intact.
The 'cut outs' insert is again, a bit grubby but complete.
All in all, a great package with a rare, mono sleeve variant.
I have other Beatles items listed, please take a look.
