This intimate approach represents a radical change for the lovely Miss Gray-for as a musical-comedy star she's used to projecting her voice over the footlights and up to the last row of the highest balcony. But every true artist, like every true diamond, has more than one facet. And Dolores Gray is no exception. In this album, her low-pitched, sensuous renditions of such selections as "Don't Blame Me," "Close Your Eyes" and "You Go To My Head" are ample proof of that.

Actually, it should come as no surprise that Miss Gray can pour delight from any number of different decanters. Born in Chicago, she was raised in Los Angeles, where she seriously commenced her singing, dancing, and acting studies at the age of 15. Her intense training led first into radio, and then to Broadway. Lucky ticket-holders remember her dynamic performances in "The Seven Lively Arts," "Are You With It?," "Two On The Aisle," and "Carnival In Flanders." And there are Englishmen who still pop their derbies recalling the three years Miss Gray spent in London as the star of "Annie, Get Your Gun."

Motion pictures, too, have utilized Dolores Gray's varied talents. She sang in "It's Always Fair Weather," "Kismet," and "Designing Woman," but played a straight dramatic-comedy role without a single song or dance in "The Opposite Sex." In "Warm Brandy" Miss Gray is supported by one of today's top arranger-conductors, Sid Feller. Using various combinations of such instruments as cellos, strings and woodwinds, bongo drums, and bass flute, he provides the striking musical backgrounds that accentuate the distinctly sensual flavor of these performances by Miss Dolores Gray.
