YES I DO / KIMI WO UTAU (aka CANZONE PER TE) ... 7-inch, 45rpm single by DR. ROBINSON & THE WINGS / arrangements by KIYOSHI YAMAYA / A&R producer T. TANIKAWA / recording engineer Y. KOZAKAI. Original Japanese promo pressing on DENON label (CD-14), from circa 1969. Super-obscure single from Japan and a new discovery for us, at least! Features the killer YES I DO theme with groovy funk sound / lead vocals sung in English / B-boy drum breaks / scat and cool spoken word rap interlude. Great for DJs. Sounds like an out-take from Les Baxter's Hell's Belles biker exploitation soundtrack. The B-side, KIMI WO UTAU is oriental vocal lounge with sophisticated piano and mellow rhythm section scored like a French soundtrack or haunting UK film theme of the period. Psychedelic mosaic design sleeve artwork by M. Hirono inspired by Milton Glaser's iconic Bob Dylan image. Our soundclip opens with the BBoy drums / scat / spoken word sample from YES I DO followed by both themes in their entirety. Very rare 45!!!

Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG 

Vinyl is in strong VG++ condition with some light hairlines. Light surface noises. Some faded, old pressing residue marks. The delicate, fold-out, laminated picture sleeve is in strong VG++ condition with ring creasing and a few dirt marks from storage. Very rare 45!!!
