Description

A genuine UK 1st Press of MIJ on the Purple label. "Gramophone" perimeter text. Matrix 1/1/1/1. Etchings 'Pecko/Porkie' etc. This is the contract press with the "3" mentioned at 9 o'clock in the dead-wax and the depression in the label - pressed whilst MIJ was high up the charts and demand was peaking. The contract pressing was every bit as good as the EMI pressing in my opinion. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover with two original generic white inners. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+] In super condition and has only seen very light use. Under close inspection I could only make out one or two superficial marks across the whole of fours sides - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback with one slight deviation. Intros and inbetweens are really nice and quiet and the audio come across with superb clarity. If you need a top-level of this all-time LIVE classic...then look no further. It plays clean and consistently clean. The audio quality is epic and is every bit the equal of the EMI pressings. Even those quiet noodling passage play really quiet and clean. Interference is largely absent. Expect nothing more than a few light crackles in an isolated moment per side. Just one deviation in the improv/medley section on side 3..I picked out a couple of light ticks..no big deal at all. Difficult to imagine going much better than this example...Note there' one light record store stamp on the side 2 label.
Cover (Ex) In lovely shiny condition with no noticeable creasing or wear front and back. The interior is immaculate - tis a beauty. Edge wear is very slight and the openings still sharp. The spine looks great with all text legible and barely any wear - just a touch of compression around the centre. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. A really sweet looking example.
Inners (Ex-) No splits. Very little ageing.  Tiny bit of writing in extreme top right corner.
