Description
This is the rare mono issue of Donald Byrd “Blackjack” on the blue and white Liberty labels of Blue Note BLP 4259. The playing surface is MINT, with a high luster; perhaps played once. The cover – with the MONO sticker over the stereo catalogue number on the front - is bright and clean throughout; two adhesive stains from store stickers at the upper right of the back slick; light rubbing along the top and bottom seams. Because some radio stations had not yet converted to stereo broadcasting, Blue Note produced 17 special mono issues that were not commercially sold. Illustrated inner sleeve is included. Personnel includes Sonny Red, Hank Mobley, Cedar Walton, Walter Booker, and Billy Higgins. WE NOW ACCEPT PAYPAL. However, you can continue to pay directly to us using VISA, MasterCard or Discover credit cards, if you prefer. NOTE: If you win more than one item, wait to receive a revised invoice from us before making payment, for shipping.
