on PHILIPS RECORDS 'International Series' 6382 004 UK issue from 1971
A top early prog band - this is the rarest of their two progressive-psych albums, and therefore one of the more desirable and collectible of the era.
Definitely worth their reputation, their debut LP on the famous spiral Vertigo Records sold fairly well - but it’s also getting ever tougher to get as people tend to hang onto their copy, and the company deleted it rather than issue it on the later ‘spaceship’ lable-style. This, their second record was issued as a budget release on the main parent company lable instead of as a follow-up on Vertigo.
Great music, and one it’s one ‘to get into’, with a longer ‘thematic’ track
with subtitled stanzas taking up all of side one.
It saw issue as a ‘budget release’ at the time, but as an obscure name - with no hit singles to their name - it just didn’t fare at all well for sales.
CONDITION of the vinyl; Overall the vinyl has excellent shine and would be VG++. However there are a couple of light marks, and one definite short scratch which unfortunately sounds, and may skip. Whether fixable I don’t know, perhaps with some care and close attention. It can be seen though, all the same.
Lables are clean, no pen or tears, and are EX+.
Fully-Laminated single-sleeve COVER is VG++ , with the original record company ‘budget-price’ sticker (which would have been put on at time of issue).
