Description

An original mono 1st press of 'Greatest' on the UK Parlophone label. Matrix 1/1. Stampers 1-RD/2-RL. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original mono Garrod & Lofthouse printed cover with flipbacks and pinched spine. Also included is an original sepia toned Emi inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) Wow, an absolute beaut which has seen only the lightest use. I could only make out a couple of light marks either side - nothing troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback with one tiny deviation. A pretty much faultless rendition and all in mono! The audio has tremendous transparency allowing you to hear deep into the mix. Interference is pretty much non-existent. I'll do my usual catch-all you may pick out a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments. The only deviation is a couple of ticks in the final couple of seconds of 'Bus Stop'. But it's a corker that's for sure...
Cover (Ex) A lovely specimen which has clearly been looked after down the years. The front looks superb with just a couple of tiny creases. The rear is equally good and seems to have avoided the ageing process. All the flipbacks are perfectly preserved and totally intact. Edge wear is very minor and the spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover has retained excellent rigidity. Nice!
Inner (Ex-) Lightest ageing, but no splits.
