Description

An original 1st press of Zep IV from late Autumn 1971 on the Red & Plum Atlantic labels. Matrix A3/B4. Please note it is possible to find earlier label variations. The vinyl comes housed in an original cover with a genuine 1st issue textured inner sleeve with exposed flipbacks. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex-) In lovely condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly NEAREXCELLENT level of playback with one deviation. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. A very nice clean output by and large. A lovely rendition as you would expect from this early Plum copy. Evermore plays pretty clean - much better than you typically find. And California plays pretty clean too with the odd crackle here and there - very nice, clear, and airy. The only track where there is anything close to audible background is the perennial favourite Stairway. Expect some low-level static flutter here and there. Nothing upfront or distracting.. it's low-level...but it will be audible all the same. Overall a very nicely preserved superb playing copy. A final flourish with Levee and it sounds amazing...
Cover (Vg+) In great shape and hasn't been abused. A relatively clean front and back with just some light discolouration at the extremities. No signs of heavy wear and the openings are still sharpish. There's a bit of edge wear in places, but nothing epic. The spine is fine with just a bit of wear. The interior is immaculate - very nice indeed. Overall a very respectable specimen.
Inner (Vg) The original 1st issue with exposed flipbacks and 4 credits. Writing atop one side ""This the new album from Led Zeppelin". Edges have split in places and have been taped up.
