V.A."Cometbus Fanzine Presents: Lest We Forget" Tape --- BBT Tapes / Take A Day Records (BBT-07 / Take A Day-02) --- Release: 1991 --- 
Very, very, very rare original copy of this classic '80s~'90s Berkeley/East Bay punk compilation tape that was compiled and put out by Aaron Cometbus(of the Cometbus 'zine, Crimpshrine, Pinhead Gunpowder, Astrid Oto, etc.), on his own BBT Tapes label in 1991.(Actually, co-released with Take A Day Records, another Pinhead Gunpowder related label...? I don't know.) The front cover says: "45 unreleased songs by 35 great old Berkeley bands". This tape contains the rare tracks by the great punk rock, melodic/pop punk and hardcore punk bands like Crimpshrine, Sweet Baby Jesus, Special Forces, Fang, and Basic Radio! 

Some of the notable bands here:
Basic Radio is the pre Operation Ivy ~ Rancid band. Here's info taken from the Op Ivy Wiki page: "Prior to the formation of Operation Ivy, Armstrong and Freeman had played together in the Berkeley ska punk band Basic Radio.[1]  Basic Radio also included Michael Valladares and Jeff Kamalian, who would later go on to form the ska band Critical Mass."
Public Enema and Violent Coercion are pre-Neurosis. They were consisted of at least three different members who later went on to form and play in Neurosis.
Kamala & The Karnivores : Pre-Spitboy, feat. Todd Spitboy on guitar, and Matt from Op Ivy/Rancid on bass. Kamala has the "Girl Band" 7" out on Lookout! Records from 1989.
Fang and Special Forces : Some of the members played in MDC, The Boneless Ones, Tapeworm, etc.
Trial : Early 1980s peace-punk from the San Francisco, California Bay area. John(vox) is the younger brother of Crucifix bassist, Matt. Chris of Crucifix would later leave the band to play for Trial's debut album. In 1983, they released a 7" on Freak Records, the same label that also did the Crucifix "1984" 7".

This comp tape includes the following bands: Atrocity, 13, Anti-Momb, Crimpshrine, Black Guard, MFP, Art Faggots, Special Forces, Vagrants, Basic Radio, Greed Grady & The Sanfurds, Distorted Truth, Violent Coercion, Spent, Fang, Keg Party Hero, Boi, Unskilled Labor, Kamala & The Karnivores, Intensified Bluebeard, Soup, Sweet Baby Jesus, Buggerall, Deviants, Basic Radio, S.A.G., Roadkill, Ravage, Kwik Way, Hunde Scheibe, Trial, Youth Authority, Albany Dread, Ratt Patrol, Public Enema, and Intensified Bluebeard.
All tracks were recorded in the late '80s ~ around 1990. See the two pictures for a full track listing.
While some of these bands later became well known with their record releases on Lookout! or No Idea, etc., majority of them have never released any records or they put out just a demo or two. Many of the bands can be found only on this comp tape.
I obtained this tape directly through the fanzine ad(Maximumrocknroll, I think. But I could be wrong.) back in the early '90s when the tape first came out. The sound quality of the tape is excellent. I just played the entire tape again before listing it on ebay and it played without any problem. Approx 95 minute long. The condition of the cassette itself is very good~excellent. The double-sided & fold-out cover/insert has visible wear and creases, but no major damage or tear. The little title labels on a cassette are intact. The orig plastic case has many scratches and a couple of small cracks. Overall in a pretty good shape considering its age. Remember, this is a 23-year old tape from back in the days.
