Minor Threat 7"EP 2nd Pressing (Yellow) Dischord MINT
Never been played, in plastic bag since it was made DESCRIPTION: Absolutely MINT condition copy of 3rd pressing of Minor Threat's 1st 7" EP, originally released in June 1981. Dischord No. 3, Dischord Records, Washington, DC.  Only 1,000 copies were pressed of this 2nd pressing.  Black vinyl record, pale blue labels, in white paper inner sleeve, housed in thin yellow paper sleeve.  Record includes folded lyric sheet, with "Happy Because I'm Finished" written on it in blue ball-point pen, in what looks to me to be Ian's block-printing.  I have no way of knowing for sure if it is, and I cannot swear that it is Ian's handwriting.  One person's block-printing often looks like another person's, but I am pretty familiar with his handwriting over the years, and that's whose it looks like to me.  It may not be.  I am being serious when I say that I hope no one would buy this record merely because the lyric sheet MIGHT have been signed by Ian.
 Who knows why the Yellow cover version of this first Minor Threat record is harder to find than the Red (1st) or Green (3rd) pressings, given that there were 1,000 of each pressed.  But I remember that even 20 years ago, we (the band and Dischord Records) noticed that Yellow was the scarcest color of the four made.  
 This Minor Threat record has 8 songs: "Filler", "I Don't Wanna Hear It", "Seeing Red", "Straight Edge", "Small Man, Big Mouth", "Screaming At A Wall", "Bottled Violence", and "Minor Threat." Produced by Minor Threat, Mixed by Skip Groff. Recorded by Don Zientara at Inner Ear Studios in Arlington, Virginia (on 4-track tapedeck, in the basement of his house). 
CONDITION / PROVENANCE:  This record is in absolutely mint condition, but as is very common with early Dischord 7" which were all folded and glued by hand while watching TV, there is some dried glue on the outside of the cover (most noticeable near "O" in "Minor Threat" on the front cover and between "Big" and "Mouth" on the back cover - see photos).  I remember clearly that while folding the thinner yellow paper of this second pressing was easier than folding the thicker red, green, and blue paper stock used for the 1st, 3rd, and 4th pressings, gluing the thinner covers was a bit harder, and the completed covers tended to stick together more.   This record has never been played, and has been kept in a plastic sleeve away from light and dust since it was made (almost 27 or 28 years now).  Even with the bits of old glue on the front cover, good luck finding another copy in such pristine condition. White paper inner sleeve is a bit torn and crumpled (see photo), but it's been like that since it was assembled years ago. This record is unconditionally guaranteed to be original, from 1981 or 1982 or whenever it was pressed.  It comes from my (Jeff Nelson - Minor Threat/Dischord Records) punk archives, which are being downsized after continuing to be described as "too big" and "insane" or containing "more than my potential kids or grandkids will ever want."  Please see my auction for lots of other punk/hardcore flyers and records as well as other jetsam I'll be putting up for sale......
