A great chance to own the legenday Beatles Butcher Cover, this one's an even more desirable STEREO pressing! This 1966 LP was withdrawn almost the second it was released due to the morbid content of it's cover photo of The Beatles in butcher smocks covered in chunks of raw meat and disembodied baby dolls.
This third state is far from perfect but it has its strong points. Firstly it is the far rarer stereo version. The peel job isn't perect but it's not bad, the front slick is a little loose on the bottom (just one spot) and there is a piece missing on the top of the front slick on the tan stereo bar, but the bulk of the body of the slick is pretty complete. This copy also comes with the paste over trunk slick, torn in two spots, rather wrinkled and it had been folded in quarters but it is all there. The bottom seam is totally split but there is still a good two thirds of the top seam intact. There is also a piece of white cloth tape on the top seam. The spine still has the part where the LP title is but a good third of the rest of it is missing. The back is quite dirty and stained. The number near the RIAA logo is "2" indicating which plant the cover was manufactured in. The enclosed photos give you the complete story. The record is in mediocre condition at best.
Far from perfect but a great copy for the guy who always wanted one of these but could never justify spending thousands for a pristine copy. It's been a pleasure having this in my own collection!
