Although published anonymously and without a song title

on both the original record and the Secret Museum CD,

this 1939 recording is known to be by Ilinca Burlan and

her Band from Gorj county in Lesser Wallachia (Oltenia).

The traditioal song is entitled “Foaie verde de-un piper”

(“Green Pepper Leaf”). The record comes with a text sheet

in Romanian and a full translation in English.
