Description

An original 1st press of Big Hits on the UK Decca label. Matrix 1A/4A. Note that the labels exhibit the Decca deep-groove only found on the 1st pressing. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover with photo pages attached inside. Also included is the original poly-lined inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Vg+) In very nice condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection there are a few light marks per side - nothing heavy or sinister looking though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, VERYGOOD+ level of playback with a couple of deviations. Plays back a real treat. It won't bother the top grades as it doesn't play clean enough in all areas. But when on song it's very addictive. In  a couple of the lower key tracks each side I'm picking a bit of light background in the odd spot..e.g. Lady Jane & Time Is On My Side. Nothing invasive - they just won't play quite as sweet as the rest of the LP. There are 3-4 ticks  in Lady Jane and a solitary click in the intro of "Time On My Side". Providing you're not uber fussy this should be a good fit. All the hits!!!
Cover (Ex) Looking much better than many original 60's examples tend to by this point in time. Lovely flat and shiny front and rear. No signs of laminate lift - just a couple of creases on the front and very little at all on the rear. The interior is in lovely condition with all pages intact and securely stapled in. The pages haven't been heavily thumbed. Edge wear is minimal and the openings are still sharp. The spine is 100% intact.
Inner (Ex-) Lightest ageing. No splits.
