Description

An original Mono 1st Press of Oldies on the UK Parlophone label. Matrix 1G/1G. Stampers 2L/1P. Please note label design is totally consistent with 1st press - all the publishing dates are positioned on the left-side. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original mono Garrod & Lofthouse cover. Also included is the original Emi advertising inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) Smashing condition and is very well preserved having seen only very light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks either side - but nothing troublesome or that is likely to sound. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. The audio on these 'collection' LPs can often be a little underwhelming on some copies, but if you find a nice heavy pressed early mono - it makes all the difference. Very nice clean and assured rendition of these Beatles classics - all in mono. Interference is very minor and infrequent. All we could detect were a few crackles in a couple of isolated moments. So, please be reassured that this is about as fine a rendition of these Beatles classics as you are realistically likely to find.
Cover (Ex) A lovely shiny front with barely a crease, and only a tiny blemish just below the word 'Oldies'. The rear seems to have pretty much avoided the usual fading which often afflicts the rear. Edge wear is very very light and the openings are still sharp. The spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains perfect rigidity. A truly impressive example.
Inner (Ex-) Very little ageing. A one inch split.
