Description

An original 1st press of Help! on the UK Parlophone label. Matrix 2/2 - 1st cut. Please note label design is perfectly consistent with very 1st press. The type face is correct, on the track "I Need You" the text is followed by a space and then an asterisk, Lark Mus. is still the abbreviated publishing credit on "Act Naturally". The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original Mono G&L cover with flipbacks. Also included is the original Emitex inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) Wow, if only all 1st pressings looked and played like this! In lovely condition and has clearly only seen very light use. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of very light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are pretty much silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. I'd love to think that all copies will playback like this, but unfortunately copies at this level are few and far between. The audio is absolutely top-draw and that can only come from an original copy that has been cared for and played sparingly. Complex sections are delivered with aplomb and the low-key moments with precision and barely a whiff of background. Interference is pretty much totally absent. I couldn't detect more than a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moment per side. Even 'Yesterday' plays clean with just a couple of isolated crackles - this really is a very hard find indeed. Audio deliver is really very clean, and from a true '65 copy, that's not something that surfaces every other day..
Cover (Ex/Ex+) This cover deserves another wow..Wow! How on earth do they appear after all this time looking like this. Truly a time travelling specimen...That iconic front image looks amazing and is totally devoid of ageing or any marks. Again, this is very very unusual to find quite such a fine specimen. Then, take a look at the rear...it hasn't been effected by ageing either. There are no hidden nasties or anything vaguely noticeable. At worst one slight crease on one of the flipbacks. This is about as good as humanly possible to find. Edge wear is pretty much non-existent and the openings still sharpish. The spine is 100% intact and overall the cover retains perfect rigidity. You're not going to be seeing even an example that matches this level for quite some time..
