Description

An original 1st mono press of HELP! on the UK Parlophone label. Matrix 2/2 - 1st cut. Please note very 1st pressings should still exhibit the the abbreviated 'Lark Mus.' publishing credit and there should be a 'space' between the asterisk and the end of the track 'I Need You'. Crazy! - but true! Well worth insisting on the earlies copies as they are pressed on chunky 60's vinyl. The vinyl comes housed in an original Mono G&L cover. There's also the original the Emitex inner sleeve. So, we're 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In superb condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of light marks per side, one side 1 is getting semi-feelable....and does just about sound [see detail]. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with two deviations. Intros and inbetweens are really nice and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Great delivery into the upbeat and low-key numbers. About as clean as you can possibly hope for. The only issue is the mark mentioned above. It causes 4-5 light ticks in the later stages of Help! It also causes a further 4-5 light ticks during the opening sequence in 'Hide Your Love'. Thankfully they are not upfront in anyway. Were it not for that this copy would be absolutely top level throughout.  It's a very clean and impressive rendition throughout. Even the fussiest tracks like "Face" & "Yesterday" play really nice and clean - much much better than you typically find. Overall -  very very nice indeed.
Cover (Ex-) Wow, a truly white cover - this, in fact, might be the whitest I've ever witnessed. No need to adjust those specs - you see white....and that is true WHITE. MIght grade a bit higher were it not for a couple of creases in the top right corner. The back is usually the problem area. But this copy has avoided most of the ageing process - just lightest evidence at the opening. A couple of light blemishes above Paul's head. All flipbacks are intact and secure. Edge wear is minor for this title and the spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. A lovely specimen for sure.
