Description

An original 4th Mono press of PPM on UK Parlophone from summer 1963. Matrix 1N/1N. 'Sold In The UK...' is ABSENT and 'recording 1st pub' is PRESENT = 4th Press. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original mono E J Day cover. We also have an original Emitex inner too. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In lovely condition especially considering the vintage. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of very superficial trail marks per side - nothing that will remotely bother this beast of a copy. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback. Very impressive indeed. Intros and inbetweens are lovely and quiet and the audio comes across with superb clarity. A blindingly good player for '63. Beautiful sweet mono - totally clean signalled. It's playing clean into the fussy numbers at the end of side 2. Overall - a super original player. Highly recommended.
Cover (Vg+) In great condition - most original '63 covers are absolutely wrecked by this point in time. A nice clean front with just a couple of minor thumbnails...better than you typically find. The rear has avoided the worst of the ageing process. A bit exhibiting at extremities - e.g. the flipbacks have discoloured. But much of the general surface is in better than average condition. Mostly minor edge wear and firm openings. There's a one inch bottom edge split at the opening [tape repaired internally]. There's a one inch wear-through at the middle of the top edge [minor cosmetic issue]. The text on the spine is 75% legible with a bit of wear and a couple of stress creases. Overall very nice rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing. Bag present. No edge splits. Nice!
