Description

An original 1st press of LC on the UK Columbia label from 1979. Matrix A1/B1/C2/D2. Etching "Timtom" & 'Track 5 is Love In Vain' The track 'Love In Vain' was finished late in the recording process and tagged on to the end of side 4 as they went to the presses. Consequently the 1st pressings do not mention train on the cover, or on the side 4 label..But it's definitely there in the wax..! The vinyl comes housed in an original Shorewood cover. Also included are both the bespoke lyric inner sleeves. So, 100% complete and 100% genuine.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In very nice condition and have only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection all we could make out were a few very light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are very nice and quiet and the audio comes across with superb clarity. A great rendition..it plays solid all the way through..no gripes at all. Interference is very minor and infrequent. All I could detect were a few crackles in one isolated moment per disc. A classic album and one which everyone, really, should have on vinyl. Please note there is a touch of foxing on one of the labels.
Cover (Ex-) Often found in pretty poor condition, but this example acquits itself well! That front cover is in very nice condition and has avoided the usual surface wear and creasing. The rear follows suit and looks great - just light handling..much much better than what usually surfaces. Edge wear is pretty light and the spine looks ok with just a small knock in the middle starting to obscure a couple of letters. Overall the cover still seems to have retained it's original box structure well.
Inners (Ex) In great condition. No splits or markings.
