Description

An original 1st press of LC on the Columbia label from 1979. Etching "Tim Tom" & "Track 5 is Train In Vain". Matrix A1/B1/C2/D2. Please note the very 1st pressings of this title are identifiable by the absence of "Train In Vain" from the side 4 labels, and the absence from the track listing on the back cover. The track was added to the album very late on before the printing had already been finalised. Track 5 is present in the vinyl and is mentioned in the deadwax inscription. The vinyl comes housed in an original 1st issue cover printed by Shorewood with both bespoke inner sleeves. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) In great condition and have only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a few very light marks per side, and a couple of very superficial trail marks - absolutely nothing that will get remotely close to the audio. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are really nice and quiet and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. It's a really solid player - it does a fantastic on this Clash classic double Lp. Four sides of top delivery. Expect nothing more than a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side. A very impressive and accomplished rendition...and an all time classic LP.
Cover (Ex-) In great shape and looking a lot better than many original examples are looking like by this point in time. Very nice and clean front with minimal wear exhibiting. There's just the hype sticker up in the top right as you will find on many copies from the time. The rear has escaped much of the usual ageing process - it looks good. Egde wear is relatively light for this title and the openings are still sharpish. The spine is in great order with all but two character of the text legible. Overall the cover still retains excellent rigidity.
Inners (Ex-) Two 1c.m. splits one inner. The other - a one inch side split at the top of the opening. Little ageing.
