Description

An original Satanic Majesties from summer 1970 on the UK Decca label. Matrix T2 - 4K/4K. Stampers 2-HC/2-GC. Please note by this time Mono was totally phased out, but there were still a few tell tale signs evident. This copy dates from shortly after the demise of Mono and the Robert Stace cover still exhibits the peephole on the rear. Also included is a date coded blue and white Decca inner sleeve 7-70...July 1970. So, this copy is 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) A beautifully preserved copy and has clearly seen only light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks, but nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio come across with superb clarity. Interference is practically non-existent. All we detected was a couple of light crackles in a couple of isolated moments - i.e. very little at all. It's worth mentioning that this title is chock fully of acoustic/ambient sounds and any intereference is really going to get in the way. You really need a CLEAN copy, like this one, to do it any sort of justice. A truly super rendition and don't forget there's some very decent tracks on here too!
Cover (Ex+) Absolutely pristine and I don't think I've seen a better one. Perfectly shiny front and back with only the very lightest signs of handling. There's absolutely no ageing at all - all colours are really bold and vivid. The interior is immaculate. Edge wear is very light. All the text on the spine is still legible, but spine is showing slight compression in places. Overall the cover retains perfect rigidity and lies totally flat. A truly great specimen.
Inner (Ex) A couple of light creases. Very little ageing at all. No splits except for tiny tape repair 1 inch top left.
