I have been collecting UK Beatles albums for more than 45 years and have accumilated more than 1000 Beatles albums alone! Here on offer, from my private collection, an original UK Decca contract pressing, extreemely scarce to find in this absolutely stunning top condition, with the Corrected Label Pressing) and with (no) K.T. tax stamper!   Highly collectable and sought after, especially in this condition!

To make this even more desirable, the audio plays through  cristal clear and very vibrant without clicks or pops and no distortion, almost like new on my systems! Play tested three times prior to this listing at very loud volume on a top system, Importantly using a dedicated mono cartridge. Absolutely stunning top top Mono audio on all frequencies!!

This album is totaly complete with the original poly lined Emitex record sleeve and original 1st issue Garrod & Lofthouse flipback cover!

This album was the second album to be released by the Beatles in the UK in 1963 and of course a classic! So as you can imagine many are found played to death and are found badly scratched with nasty distortion. To find a copy like this after 47 years is becoming extreemely difficult to find! Please look at my completed listings of records that I have sold of this calaber and you will see that I normally get it right! 

With the Beatles' second British album, recorded four months after the band's first album and released on 22 November 1963!

The album features eight original compositions (including the first by George Harrison) and six covers, mostly of Motown and R&B hits. Most of the songs from the album were released in the United States on Meet the Beatles! on 20 January 1964!

The LP had advance orders of a half million and sold another half million by September 1965 — making it the second album to sell a million copies in the UK (the first being the South Pacific soundtrack). It stayed at the top of the charts for 21 weeks, displacing Please Please Me, so that the Beatles occupied the top spot for 51 consecutive weeks. It even reached number eleven in the "singles charts" (because at the time UK charts counted all records sold, regardless of format)!

 THE VINYL

This original 47 year old vinyl, on initial inspection of the playing surface looks superbe. (Please note this is the orinal thick , heavy and chunky slab of vinyl only found like this on the earliest pressings.) The vinyl lays perfectly flat on the turntable and is free of any warping! On initial inspection I can't see any deep marks or scratches on the playing surface, certainly no deep needle scratches, at least nothing that would be detrimental to the awesome audio effect! Only if angled in strong light could possibly light whyspy surface scuffs marks possibly be seen mainly from sleeve removal only! Importantly nothing that would cause any loud clicks/ticks or pops during the audio that I could hear at all! Quite unbeleivable to find on a Beatles record after 49 years!

 The Audio Quality

I have played this vinyl three times prior to listing, at very loud volume on a top system,, importantly using a dedicated mono cartridge! This 47 year old vinyl plays through absolutely superbe throughout! The audio was cristal clear and very vibrant with that deep bassey feel , only found like this on these earliest originals! I heard (no) clicks or pops during the audio and importantly no distortion or signs that this has been overplayed at all! Certainly no skips or jumps! Even in between tracks , any surface static is extreemely minimal, quite unbeleivable to find like this after 49 years!  Amaizingly even in between tracks this vinyl is lovely and quiet,, without the usual background surface noise that is so often heard on these early pressings. I would grade the audio at least excellent plus to  near mint throughout!

The typical Decca Contract pressings These feature the familier groove (only found on Decca pressings) These (emit) ''SOLD IN THE UK............''  Across the labels.(Only early press) ''THE PARLOPHONE  CO LTD ...'' Around the label rims (only early press) A truly unique scarce copy, the credit for 'MONEY' IS 'DOMINION BELINDA'!!!! ''MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN''.! (UK PRESS ONLY)!

There is little if (no) spindle ware (the hole is perfectly round) see photo. Very minimal spidering can be seen angled in strong light  (this has barely ever been played at all,, definately not overplayed ) (No) K.T. tax code is stamped very rare to find like this!   

THE RECORD SLEEVE

This is the original Emitex ,poly lined record sleeve (Correct for this pressing) Becoming fragile with age with very light staining/creasing only (no) splits or tares! THIS IS THE ORIGINAL!

THE COVER

The original   UK PRESS  GARROD & LOFTHOUSE super glossy laminated front LARGE flipbacks at the rear of the cover! There is no splits or tares!  Amaizingly there is no real laminate creases to mention (very very rare to find) and no real nasty, just very light rubbing\ ware with age. Any fading/staining at the rear is minor in my opinion. This cover features the track ''You Really Got A Hold On Me'  uncorrected' ''You Really Gotta Hold On Me'' Later covers were corrected!  This cover must grade at least excellent to excellent plus in my opinion.
