BEATLES  UK  –  ABBEY  ROAD  LP  -  MISALIGNED APPLE.

1969 PCS 7088 -  APPLE RECORD LABEL.

A UK first press album in 100% original condition featuring a   Misaligned APPLE logo mispress on the rear of the sleeve.  

The song  ‘Her Majesty’  does NOT appear printed on the record label or on the sleeve  but the  song DOES plays on the album !.

CONDITION:

MAIN SLEEVE:  is in excellent condition,   the sleeve is fully laminated and has a really good glossy finish.  These  first press early sleeves were made to a far higher quality and were made of a thicker card.   The condition of the spine is very good and all the text on the spine is clear to read.    This being a very first press sleeve, printed in August 1969, the rear of the sleeve features a ‘misprinted’ misaligned APPLE logo.   Once spotted by EMI the sleeve was soon corrected, but some of these misprinted sleeves did escape into the public market.    On  normal sleeves the Apple logo is aligned with the left margin of the song list.  The sleeve has NO tears, stains, Pen writing.  

INNER SLEEVE: is in  very good  condition and is the original white sleeve with  a  ‘Patent no. 1,125.555’  etc  text on.   The sleeve is very clean  and white and has NO edge wear,   Pen writing,   tears or stains on.

VINYL:   is in excellent+ condition,  and as this is a first pressing it is made of ‘thick, heavy’ vinyl, 

the Matrix nos. are YEX 749 - 2  and  YEX 750 - 1,  the Mother / Stampers are:  ‘ 5    M T G ’   and    ‘ 1 0      A P D ’,    the vinyl looks like new and is very  dark,  clean  and  glossy.   

AUDIO:  is  very good,   it plays with NO skips  or jumps and  lays flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS:  are in  excellent  condition,  with very little signs of being played  and   being a first pressing show a DARK Green Apple on side One,  as mentioned,  the label on Side Two does NOT list the song     ‘Her Majesty’  but the song does play on the record !.

Unfortunately as you will see from my feedback,   I have received One negative feedback recently.   This is due to the fact that I followed Ebay policy and reported  an Ebay member for non payment and in turn I have received this feedback !, while this Ebay member carries on trading unaffected !,    I am disgusted that Ebay has let this happen !

To fairly grade the condition of the record, I am using the official grading system from the Record Collector Magazine.

Grading System

The seven standard condition categories and a description of what each one means are listed below:

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

+  or  – :  indicates a grading in between categories.
