BEATLES UK - Rubber Soul, rare ridged label, original mono.

1965 PMC 1267 original yellow & black Parlophone labels.

A UK first press album in original condition, featuring:

1. side one, the record label has a curious shallow ‘ridge’ to it, approximately 10mm from the outer edge of the label. It is believed that these ridged labels came about as a result of EMI re employing an old pressing machine,

2. side two on the label there are the letters ‘MT’ embossed around the spindle hole. Technically this is incorrect for a record made in 1965, as the ‘MT’ code was no longer used after July 1963, so this detail together with the above tends to confirm the use of and early pressing machine,

3. the record has EMI format mother / stampers,

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in near excellent condition, the front of the sleeve is laminated. The two opening edges of the sleeve have remained sharp. The spine is very good+ condition and all the text is clear to read. The rear of the sleeve has the period tri flipbacks design. The rear has remained very clean for its age. There are NO tears, splits, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve. There are some light age related marks to the rear.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in near excellent condition and  it is the original ‘Use Emitex’ sleeve. It has remained an excellent fresh clean sleeve for it age. The two opening edges of the sleeve have remained fresh and clean. There are NO tears, splits, stains, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.

THE VINYL: is in very good++ condition and is made from the original thick, heavy vinyl. The vinyl is dark and glossy.

The matrix nos. are - XEX  579 - 4  and  XEX  580 - 4,  

The mother / stampers are:   ‘ 4 1 0   A A R’ and ‘ 4  A A M ’.

THE AUDIO: is very good++, it plays with a little crackle and the odd light ‘tick’ here and there. The record lays flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS: are in very good++ condition. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

TO GRADE THE CONDITION OF THE RECORD I AM USING THE OFFICIAL GRADING SYSTEM FROM THE ‘RECORD COLLECTOR’ MAGAZINE.

PACKING  -  ALL RECORDS ARE POSTED WITH MULTI LAYERED CARD STIFFENERS FOR PROTECTION.BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVES, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
