BEATLES UK - Rubber Soul, rare ridged label, original mono.

PMC 1267 - original 1965 mono, yellow and black Parlophone labels.

An early UK issue album in original condition, featuring:

1. on side one, the record label has an unusual ‘ridge’ to it, it is now believed that these rare ridged labels were a result of EMI re employing old pressing machines,

2. on side two, the record label has the letters ‘MT’ embossed around the spindle hole. Technically this is incorrect for a record made in 1965, as the ‘MT’ code was no longer used after July 1963, this inconsistency helps to tie in with the ridged label,

3. the record has EMI format mother / stampers.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in very good++ condition, the front of the sleeve is laminated. The spine is in very good++ condition and has remained a good clean white for its age, all of the text is clear to read. The rear of the sleeve has the period tri flipbacks design. The rear of the sleeve has remained a good clean white in colour for its age. There are NO tears, splits, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve. There is a small name written in blue pen, to the top, rear right flipback. There are, what appears to be two ‘tea cup’ rings to the rear, lower right side of the sleeve.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in excellent condition and is the original ‘Use Emitex’ sleeve. It has remained very clean for its age, an excellent well preserved sleeve. The two opening edges are clean and unworn. There are NO tears, splits, stains, pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve.

THE RECORD: is in very good+. The record is made from the original 1960s thick, heavy vinyl. The playing surfaces have remained, dark and glossy.

The matrix nos. are:  XEX  579 - 4  and  XEX  580 - 4,  

The mother / stampers are:   ‘ 10   A A R ’ and ‘ 1 4  A R M ’.

THE AUDIO: is very good++, it plays with some light crackle and some light ‘ticks’ heard here and there. The record plays with a full, loud period mono sound, a good playing copy. The record lays flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS: are in very good++ condition. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
