BEATLES UK - Rubber Soul, rare ridged label, original mono.

PMC 1267 original mono 1965 yellow and black Parlophone labels.

A UK early issue album in original condition, featuring:

1. side one, the record label has an unusual ‘ridge’ to it, it is now believed that these rare ridged labels were a result of EMI re employing old pressing machines,

2. side two on the label there are the letters ‘MT’ embossed around the spindle hole. Technically this is incorrect for a record made in 1965, as the ‘MT’ code was no longer used after July 1963, this inconsistency helps to tie in with the ridged label,

3. the record has EMI format mother / stampers.

CONDITION:

THE MAIN SLEEVE: is in excellent condition, the front of the sleeve is laminated. The spine is in excellent condition and all the text is clear to read on the spine. The rear of the sleeve has the original period tri flipbacks design. The rear of the sleeve has remained very clean for its age. There are NO tears, splits, stains, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve. A nice touch to the sleeve I think is, to the rear, top left, just below the top flipback, there is a faded name and a date written long ago in ‘fountain pen’, I cannot make out the name but the date appears to be: ‘28 – 12 – 65’.

THE INNER SLEEVE: is in very good condition and is the original ‘Use Emitex’ sleeve. A clean sleeve for its age. Theres NO pen writing, stickers or sticker residue on the sleeve. The sleeve has splits on two of the side edges and a split to the bottom edge. There is some ‘fraying’ to the front opening edge and a 10mm tear. The rear opening edge has some ‘fraying’ and some small ‘nicks’ and some age related marks. Each side of the sleeve has an original colour shop dealer stamp, see photo.

THE RECORD: is in very good+ condition. The record is made from the original 1960s thick, heavy vinyl. The record has remained dark and glossy.

The matrix are:  XEX  579 - 4  and  XEX  580 - 4,  

The mother / stampers are:   ‘ 4 1 0   A A R ’ and ‘ 7  A G R ’.

THE AUDIO: is near excellent, it plays with relatively quiet grooves, but I did hear some light ‘ticks’ and ‘pops’ here and there. The record plays with a full, loud period mono sound. The record lays flat on the turntable.

THE LABELS: are in very good++ condition. The labels are free from any pen writing, stickers or sticker residue.

PACKING  -  ALL RECORDS ARE POSTED WITH MULTI LAYERED CARD STIFFENERS FOR PROTECTION.BEFORE POSTING, THE RECORD IS REMOVED FROM THE RECORDS ORIGINAL INNER AND OUTER SLEEVES, THE RECORD IS THEN PUT INTO A SECOND PAPER INNER SLEEVE TO MINIMISE ANY DAMAGE THAT MAY OCCUR WHILE IN TRANSIT. THE RECORD / SLEEVES ARE THEN PUT INTO A NEW PLASTIC SLEEVE FOR FURTHER PROTECTION.
