Description

An original 1st UK Press of Rock. Matrix 2/1 -1st cut. Label is consistent with very 1st press. Stampers 1-TG/2-HM [hmmm nice!].  You will notice there's no EMI logo on the labels - exactly what you'd expect at 1st press.  And 'Gramophone' in the perimeter text. Please note the heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover. 1st iteration has only one border around the Harvest logo bottom right on the front. Later copies have two rectangles for a border. Invariably these original Rock copies have been murdered - so don't underestimate a well cared for original copy! Needless to say the audio is gonna blow y'mind!
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In lovely condition and has only seen relatively light use. Good lustre. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of light marks per side - nothing heavy or nasty. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with deviation in just two spots. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Great energy from this near-master copy and a very capable player. Just a few crackles and a couple of ticks in the super fussy opening to 'Child In Time'. So the intro is not perfect - but acceptable...and about 1minute in the background goes totally quiet....and is quite frankly the feed is exquisite. This is pure unadulterated riffage of the highest order! Always loved C.I.T. You will hear well into the mix from a near-master copy which is buy and large well taken care off. A couple of clicks midway through 'Rat' - but the riffage is up at '11' so not that noticeable and over in a flash.... A 1st copy is not in itself a rarity...but a copy that plays amazing is a much much harder find than one might, at first, imagine. Gotta hand it to this copy...I am lovin' it... you really get the full gamut. Overall a cracking rendition and comes highly recommended. 95+% superb. A clean signal...a real rarity on this often abused title.
Cover (Ex) In superb condition for the vintage and not warn out like so many other examples. Front looks seriously tidy. Interior has avoided the ageing process. The rear is clean too.  Minimal edge wear.  Spine is 99% in tact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. MOST copies are not even close to this standard...
