Description
King Crimson "In The Court of the Crimson King" LP, white label test pressing of the U.S. Atlantic Records release of the album. SUPER RARE. Unfortunately, the previous owner did not take good care of it and it is in VG condition, with surface scratches throughout the record. I played it and it does not skip, but there is a lot crackles and pops. I only showed one side of the label because it's exactly the same on the other label with the only difference being that one side has "699" as the last three numbers, and the other side has "700" as the last three numbers. As you can see, it is dated 10/31/69, and was pressed by Presswell records. The sleeve is a plain white sleeve with some wear, and someone put the Atlantic Records sticker for the album at the top of the sleeve, with numerical writing at the top right that match the numbers on the record label.
I bought this from a private record collection that had lots of Columbia Records promo's in it, so my guess is the person worked for Columbia Records in the late 1960's (predominately 1969). The only thing I can think of is that he had a friend at Atlantic that passed this on to him, but I'm not sure.
If you are a collector of King Crimson LP's....this is the Holy Grail !!
