Description

An original 3rd Press of PPM on UK Parlophone from 1963. Matrix 1N/1N. Tax Code 'MT'. Copies from '63 do not hold the 'Sold in The UK..' statement. Very early copies, like this 3rd press, do not mention 'recording first published' either. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original cover printed by Ernest J Day. Also included is an original 1963 inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex-) In great condition despite having seen moderate use. Under close inspection there are a couple of marks either side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, NEAR EXCELLENT level of playback with one slight deviation. Intros and inbetweens are quiet and the audio comes across with very good clarity. Interference is slight. All we detected was a touch of light static in the odd place - certainly nothing remotely invasive. The one deviation is a tiny mark at the start of 'Baby It's You' - it causes something like 6 light ticks and then disappears very quickly. A superb little player and this is helped by the fact that the early PPM copies were amongst the heaviest pressings of any Beatles record.
Cover (Vg+) Has survived 55 years in surprisingly good condition. The front is pretty much fault free. The rear is exhibiting a bit of ageing now and there's a tape/sticker removal mark down in the bottom right corner. Edge wear is reasonably light with just a bit at the corners. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and the spine is 100% intact A very fine early example.
Inner (Ex) Very little ageing and no splits.
