Description

An original 1965 stereo pressing of PPM on the Parlophone label. Matrix 1/1. Labels are consistent with a 1965 pressing with the narrower font of the early copies, and hence the mention of 'stereo' on the labels doesn't quite extend to the 'E' in Parlophone. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original Stereo cover with flipbacks. Also included is the original Emitex inner sleeve which was still in use in 1965. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex) In lovely condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection there are a few light marks each side, and one longer lightish trail - nothing heavy or troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of slight deviations. Super energy and sound quality as you typically find on these early 60's copies. Because it has only seen relatively light all that original vibrancy is still present in the audio for the listener to enjoy. Interference is both minor and infrequent. Expect noting more than a few crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side. The deviations are two light ticks in "Chains" and again in 'There's a Place'. There are are two clicks in the closing seconds of "Ask Me Why" - but if you got to have one - that's the best place for one! Overall a very impressive rendition of this harder to find mid-sixties stereo copy.
Cover (Vg+) Very nice clean cover with just a couple of thumbnail creases and some stress creases at the spine edge. There's a touch of edge wear down along the bottom edge - and in addition a two wear through patch. I have repaired it internally and it's now merely cosmetic, and less noticeable. The rear seems to have escaped the worst of the ageing process - just lightest tanning. Someone's added some very small track numbers to the side two track listing. The spine looks ok with pretty much all text legible, but there are a couple of stress creases. Overall the cover still retains very good rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Aged, but there are no splits.
