Description

An original 1st press of MIJ on the UK purple label. Matrix 1/1/1/1. Etchings 'Pecko/Delta Pork' etc etc. Labels are absolutely consistent with 1st press still showing 'Gramophone' in the perimeter text. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Garrod & Lofthouse cover. And a real treat to see this Lp in quite such good shape - this is one of THE greatest live Lps ever made...
Vinyl (Ex+) In superb condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of light marks on each side - nothing troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback with one minor/brief deviation. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with tremendous clarity. Interference is pretty much non-existent apart from a small section in one intro. All we could detect were a few crackles in a couple of isolated moments - e.g. briefly, right at the start of the intro to 'Lazy' when Jon Lord starts with a falling 'single-tone' there are a few audible crackles..... As soon as Jon turns it up, and starts playing, it's as clean as anything again. I mean it really is a cracking low-mileage copy. Even in the quiet passages like 'Child In Time' - clean..nothing to interfere with what is quite frankly some very impressive audio.
Cover (Ex) In great shape and has clearly been cared for down the years. Nice and shiny front and back showing just a couple of creases. The interior is immaculate. Edge wear is very light. The text on the spine is still intact, but there is a fold down the middle - so bear this in mind. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and remains a terrific example.
